Our Background
We are a group of people who know that sometimes there can seem to be no way out. We want to help. That’s why we started Life Preservers. The Life Preservers use their craft skills to raise awareness of suicide and to reach out to people who are contemplating taking their own life. We want those people to know we care and there is another way.
Anyone can become a Life Preserver. Just use whatever craft skills you have to make one of our Life Rings (above). It could be macrame, crochet, knitting, painting.. Then just add the message:
‘This is a LIFE RING. If you’re feeling desperate, HOLD ON. You are not alone. Text SHOUT to 85258 (free) for support 24/7. Lifepreservers.co.uk’
Then tie it somewhere for people to find. Maybe take photo and upload it to your social media to spread the word.
